SCOPE
Multiphase, non-Newtonian and reacting flows are widely encountered in mechanical, petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, aeronautical and astronautical, nuclear and hydraulic engineering. The proposed symposium will cover a wide range of topics from fundamental studies to application in different industrial areas. The First International Symposium on Multiphase, Non-Newtonian and Physico-Chemical Flows, organized by the Chinese Society of Mechanics and other Chinese societies, was successfully held in Beijing in 1997. The most eminent scientists from the United States, Great Britain, Japan, China, Australia and other countries organized and attended this meeting. That symposium brought together both international experts and Chinese experts in the related fields to exchange information of common interest. It is well known that in the period of May 31 to June 3, 2004 the 5th International Conference on Multiphase Flows will be held in Yokohama, Japan. Recently, the scientists in these fields both in the world and in China suggest organizing the Second International Symposium on Multiphase, Non-Newtonian and Reacting Flows just after the 5ICMF in Japan to continue their discussion on the state-of-art, advances, new ideas and future research needs in Beijing, China.
TOPICS
The prospective authors are suggested to submit the papers including but not limited to the following topics in multiphase, non-Newtonian and reacting flows:
1. Fundamentals of gas-solid flows
2. Fundamentals of gas-liquid flows
3. Fundamentals of liquid-solid flows
4. Non-Newtonian flows
5. Flows in porous media
6. Chemically reacting flows and combustion
7. Numerical models and methods
8. Instrumentation and measurements
9. Application
